Job Title: Dietary Cook / Food Service Worker
Position Type: Contract (59-Day Assignment – Covering FTE LOA)
Pay Range: $23–25/hour (W2)
Location: Bronxville, NY 10708
Shift: Varied Shifts – (5:00 AM–1:30 PM | 5:30 AM–2:00 PM | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM | 10:30 AM–7:00 PM PRN)
Required Education & Certifications (Mandatory)
• High School Diploma or GED AND 2 years from an accredited cooking/catering school (REQUIRED)
• ServSafe Certification (REQUIRED)
Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)
• Culinary background with hands-on cooking experience (REQUIRED)
• Prior food handling experience (REQUIRED)
• Short order cooking experience (REQUIRED)
• Experience with patient meal preparation (healthcare or similar setting) (REQUIRED)
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (REQUIRED)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment (REQUIRED)
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience working in hospital or healthcare food service
• Experience with dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
Job Description / Project
The Dietary Cook / Food Service Worker will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in a healthcare setting, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing meals according to dietary guidelines and patient requirements
• Performing short order cooking and batch food preparation
• Following food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe guidelines)
• Assisting with meal assembly, portioning, and service
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Supporting inventory, storage, and food handling procedures
• Collaborating with dietary staff to ensure timely meal delivery
