Job Title: Credentialing Specialist

Duration: 3+ Month Contract (Possible Extension)

Schedule

• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM ( Punctuality is a must )
• Hours Per Day: 7.5
• Hours Per Week: 37.5
• Days Per Week: Monday – Friday
• Estimated End Date: June 27, 2026

Pay Rate

• $35 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to support physician and allied health credentialing processes in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accurate credentialing records, and support medical staff credentialing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce regulatory compliance and quality assurance in credentialing activities.
• Prepare and maintain reports related to credentialing activities such as accreditation, membership, and facility privileges.
• Ensure all credentialing information complies with legal, federal, and state guidelines .
• Process credentialing applications for initial applicants and reappointments (approximately 125–200 quarterly) .
• Collect and verify credentialing documentation including education, training, licensure, and experience .
• Maintain and update provider records in the Echo credentialing database .
• Set up and maintain provider information in the credentialing system.
• Track license and certification expirations for all providers.
• Prepare materials for Credentials Committee, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings .
• Schedule and occasionally attend medical staff department meetings and record minutes.
• Process and collect dues for site-based medical staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of provider information at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous hospital credentialing experience required
• Experience using CredentialStream to credential physicians
• Knowledge of the credentialing process for physicians and allied health practitioners
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong data analysis and research skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain professional relationships
• Excellent computer and database management skills

• This role focuses on provider credentialing in a hospital setting .
• This is NOT a payor credentialing role.
