Job Description

Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (RN) for a 1-year contract leadership assignment at our inpatient substance use disorder and mental health treatment facility in Laurel Run, Pennsylvania.

This onsite role offers the chance to step into a key leadership position, drive clinical excellence, and support patient-centered care—while benefiting from a structured contract, housing stipend, and the opportunity to expand your leadership experience in a new setting.

Position Details

  • Contract Type: 1-Year Assignment
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with leadership coverage as needed
  • Reporting To: Executive Director
  • Housing stipend provided to support relocation

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all nursing operations, ensuring compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission and CARF standards
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff to drive accountability and clinical excellence
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and daily nursing workflows
  • Partner with medical and interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated patient care
  • Ensure accurate documentation, assessments, and EMR compliance
  • Oversee medication management processes and safety initiatives
  • Lead Infection Control and quality improvement efforts
  • Support regulatory readiness, audits, and accreditation activities
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and staff education programs

Qualifications:

  • An active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing leadership and management experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility for staff supervision, operational oversight, performance management, and departmental outcomes.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in behavioral health and/or mental healthcare settings, with substance use treatment experience strongly preferred.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of nursing standards of care for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, healthcare compliance requirements, and patient confidentiality laws.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable in a regulated healthcare environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and documentation skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance administrative responsibilities with clinical oversight in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
  • Experience with Kipu EMR systems, preferred.
