Job Description

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is the national medical society representing emergency medicine. Through continuing education, research, public education, and advocacy, ACEP advances emergency care on behalf of its 41,000 emergency physician members, and the more than 150 million Americans they treat on an annual basis.

Located in Irving, Texas, we offer paid insurance plans (medical, dental, and vision), retirement, flextime, and more. This role is open to fully remote applicants. A hybrid schedule of both in-office work and work-from-home hours is available for candidates who live local to either our DC or DFW offices.

The Director of Resident & Early Career Physician Engagement is responsible for overseeing strategies and programs with the goal of relationship management for both residents and early career physician members. This role designs targeted engagement initiatives, builds leadership pipelines, and strengthens connections between residents, early career physicians, and ACEP.

This role’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) developing strategic engagement roadmaps, collaborating with internal teams, developing strategies to increase residency program membership, overseeing online communities/peer networks, and monitoring/implementing metrics related to engagement.

Our ideal candidate has…

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in healthcare, public health, education, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience with membership organizations, higher education, or residency programs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing engagement programs for students, trainees, or early career medical professionals.
  • A strong understanding of the medical training continuum.

Other desired qualifications include prior experience working for a national nonprofit or healthcare professional association, CAE certification, history with managing volunteer leaders or advisory groups, and a familiarity with one or more of the following subjects: emergency medicine, accreditation bodies, GME structures, and physician career pathways.

Please visit ACEP’s career page for a full job description.
