Import & Export Coordinator | Wood Dale, Illinois | Salary: Up to $65,000

The Import & Export Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of international shipments. This role ensures timely movement of goods, compliance with all import/export regulations, and exceptional communication with clients, carriers, and internal teams. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international import and export shipments (air and ocean)
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations
• Communicate with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth shipment execution
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
• Provide shipment updates and excellent customer service to clients
• Maintain accurate records and data entry in internal systems
• Assist with rate quotations and cost analysis when needed
• Collaborate with internal departments to optimize logistics processes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or international shipping
• Knowledge of import/export procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations
• Experience handling air and/or ocean freight shipments
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
