Title: RN – Research Coordinator

Department: Cardiovascular Medicine – Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Research

Location: Onsite - Detroit, MI

Duration: 12-month contract - potential for extensions

Start date: April/May 2026

Overview:

This role supports cardiovascular clinical research focused on advanced heart failure and transplant studies. The RN Research Coordinator will partner with physician investigators to manage study execution, including patient recruitment, coordination, and data collection, while ensuring compliance with research protocols. Ideal candidates have strong nursing experience with a background in cardiology, with research experience preferred.

Needs:

• Must have at least 3 years of nursing experience,
• Must have Cardiology background / experience (min 1 year)
• Prefer someone with research experience as well (min 1 year)

Job Description:

• Performs nursing functions independently and in collaboration with physician investigator to ensure that the objectives of an established research protocol are met and in compliance with IRB and sponsor guidelines.
• Identifies and recruits patients into study protocols as needed.
• Provides for educational and/or emotional support to patients enrolled in the study protocol.
• Is responsible for managing the study documentation and data collection for the study, and preparing and monitoring the budgets as needed.
• Supports physician investigators and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate project participation and compliance.

Education & Experience:

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Michigan. BSN preferred.
• Must have a minimum of three years of nursing experience.
• One year of clinical research experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Normal office and patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
