Job Description

Job Title: Training & Development Specialist

Location: Candidates must reside within the Quad City Area, Waterloo, or Des Moines, IA (Travel required across Illinois, Iowa, and select US locations)

Assignment Length: 24 Months (As a W2 employee of KellyOCG)

Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour

Shift Information: Schedule will be coordinated around training delivery needs; frequent travel and a combination of in-person and virtual delivery required

Work Environment: Must be comfortable facilitating sessions on-site and virtually; travel up to 50%; positive, collaborative culture

Position Overview:

As a Training & Development Specialist, you will deliver and facilitate engaging, inclusive workshops and development programs to employees at all levels. You will connect with a diverse audience, manage a variety of personalities, and adapt with agility to audience needs as well as unpredictable circumstances in live training environments. You'll also manage project details, travel often, and collaborate to continuously improve content and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver inclusive, interactive training (virtual and in-person), adapting material in real-time to audience needs
  • Facilitate strategic and challenging conversations, course-correcting and reframing as necessary for optimal learning
  • Manage program materials, tools, records, schedules, venues, and delivery logistics
  • Collaborate across departments to identify training/development needs and provide feedback for program enhancements
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance and evolve development programs using best practices and participant input
  • Coordinate travel and logistics for in-person training sessions
  • Act as an inspiring, positive role model and representative for the company's development culture

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 50% travel within Illinois, Iowa, and occasionally to North Dakota, North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, and California
  • Personal vehicle required (for travel within 5 hours of base location); mileage, gas, and travel expenses reimbursed according to company policy

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2–4 years’ experience facilitating team conversations and workshops
  • 2–4 years’ experience delivering virtual training using tools like Microsoft Teams or Zoom
  • 1–3 years’ experience leveraging AI and automation tools for content development, process improvement, and system optimization
  • Experience with scheduling, planning, and coordinating training/events
  • Experience navigating and facilitating strategic conversations, reframing questions, and adapting instructional flow as needed
  • Outstanding communication, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay positive, solution-oriented, and adaptable

  • Certifications or experience facilitating any of the following:

  • Instructional design and/or professional mentoring experience
  • ICF Coaching Certification
