Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing - Traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers - Experience with the management of dysrhythmias - Proficiency in telemetry and remote monitoring - Ability to utilize rapid response and code teams - Skills in bowel obstruction management and colostomy/ileostomy care - Feeding tube care and management experience - Knowledge in pre/post hemodialysis management - Competence in blood product administration and peripheral line care - Proficiency in phlebotomy and PICC line management - Ability to start and maintain IVs Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical nursing for a night shift position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. The nurse will be responsible for the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Knowledge in telemetry and remote monitoring systems is required. Candidates will utilize rapid response teams and code teams as needed in emergencies. Experience with managing bowel obstructions and performing colostomy and ileostomy care is essential. The candidate should be proficient in feeding tube care and management protocols. Pre and post hemodialysis management experience is necessary. The role includes blood product administration and maintaining peripheral lines. Competent phlebotomy skills are required. Candidates must be skilled in PICC line management and IV starting techniques. The nurse will manage patients with various diagnoses, including diabetes, pneumonia, and renal failure. Flexibility to float to other units based on patient needs is required. The nurse will work in compliance with safety protocols, including isolation precautions and proper use of PPE. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Compliance with vaccination policies is expected. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and provide high-quality patient care.
