Job Description

A leading General Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in healthcare construction to lead complex, large-scale projects across Texas. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical centers, outpatient facilities, and specialized treatment environments, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with strict regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and overall execution strategies
  • Oversee preconstruction efforts including estimating, value engineering, and constructability reviews
  • Manage project teams, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., infection control, life safety, AHJ requirements)
  • Oversee procurement strategies, subcontractor negotiations, and contract administration
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards across all project phases
  • Lead project meetings, reporting, and executive-level updates
  • Manage change orders, cost controls, and financial reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–15+ years of construction project management experience, with a strong focus on healthcare projects
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale hospital or medical facility projects ($50M+)
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare construction standards, including infection control risk assessment (ICRA) and phased construction in active facilities
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery methods (Design-Build, CMAR, Design-Bid-Build)
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment
