Job Description

We're looking for an SEO Lead to help drive organic growth and ensure Gamma stays ahead of the curve as search evolves with AI. With 75+ million annual site visitors and 50+ million users generating hundreds of thousands of AI-powered documents daily, you'll have an incredible foundation to scale global SEO strategy.

You’ll be responsible for Gamma’s on- and off-page SEO, programmatic content strategy, and AI search monitoring and optimization (e.g. chatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Mode). You’ll build scalable SEO systems and advise on a site architecture that grows with our platform and help establish Gamma as a leader in search in an AI-first world.

This is a rare opportunity to shape SEO strategy at one of the fastest-growing AI startups, working alongside a team that ships constantly and isn’t afraid to experiment and rewrite playbooks.

This position is an onsite role in San Francisco with a hybrid flexible work culture. You’ll be expected to come in to our Potrero Hill office 2-3 days per week with a schedule that works best for you.

What you’ll do:

• Own our technical SEO foundation—optimize site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and structured data to ensure our site performs at its best
• Design and execute programmatic SEO strategies that target high-intent keywords with relevant landing pages and capture long-tail queries through user-generated content
• Pioneer AI search readiness by adapting our SEO approach for AI search experiences and track Gamma’s presence across emerging search formats
• Partner closely with our marketing engineer to implement scalable SEO improvements that can handle our rapid growth
• Partner with our content lead and product growth lead on organic acquisition strategies that bring in qualified new users

Our ideal candidate has:

• 7+ years of proven experience owning SEO as an operator, ideally at a prosumer PLG company
• Deep expertise in technical SEO, structured data implementation, content management, and programmatic page generation at scale
• Experience with a global site and localization
• Strong curiosity about how search is evolving, especially in the context of AI and emerging search experiences
• Highly collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally with product, marketing, content, and design teams
• Data-driven approach and track record of building scalable SEO foundations that support rapid growth and experimentation

Bonus points for:

• Experience with a company that spans consumer and B2B
• History of pioneering new SEO approaches or being early to emerging search trends
• Deep expertise with international SEO
• Experience using Contentful

Compensation & benefits:

The base annual salary range for this role is $150K - $200K
